All accidents should be reported to both the Bargain Car Rentals Assistance number and where practical the Police (000) should be phoned. The driver is required to

A credit card authority form (provided by us) must be filled out by the cardholder giving consent for their card to be used for all costs.
When collecting your vehicle please ensure all nominated drivers are present and have valid driver’s licenses. Renters with an international license in non-Latin characters are required to supply an official translation.
Renters are not permitted to drive our vehicles interstate. They can only be driven within the state of hire unless we have given our written permission prior to the start of rental and it is noted on the rental agreement.
Vehicles in Victoria and Queensland are fitted with an E-tag which is linked to your reservation with Bargain Car Rentals. The toll charges will be processed on the credit card you have supplied for your reservation. Unfortunately, customers cannot use their own E-tags.
Not all toll charges are processed instantly as you drive through a toll. Charges may be processed up to 6 weeks after you have returned your vehicle.

Parking and speeding fines are the responsibility of the renter. If you receive a parking ticket we recommend you pay this before the due date. A $75 administration fee will be incurred for any infringement that requires reissuing the fine into the driver’s name.
We offer baby seats at $9 per day. We are unable to fit child seats on your behalf. These will be provided with the vehicle at time of collection and must be installed by you.
As long as the drivers licence is in English then you do not need to have to an international drivers licence. If your licence is not in English then you do require an international drivers licence.

We require a 20% deposit to secure booking.

A pre-authorisation is a temporary hold of funds on your card. These funds will be unavailable till the hold is lifted.
The pre-authorisation will last between 7-31 business days.

Damage Excess Payable is the amount you are liable for in the event of any damage or accident.
Excess Reduction provides great peace of mind. In the event of an accident, it reduces your financial liability to a smaller excess. Yes, you are still liable for the excess until the third party accepts liability and we have received payment.
Renters can take out their own excess reduction policy. Renters should be aware they will be liable to pay the excess amount in the event of an accident. You must make a claim with the excess reduction provider to be reimbursed any monies.

If you need to cancel your booking, you can call or email us. Please be advised cancellation fees may apply.
If your booking is cancelled within 48 hours prior to the start of the rental, or you fail to notify us of your intended cancellation prior to the start of the rental, you will be charged the rental charges for the rental period as booked unless we are able to hire the vehicle to another customer for an equivalent term and rate.
If required, renters can return their vehicle early. There are no refunds for unused days.
The renter must return their vehicle at the time they have selected and what is stated on their agreement.
Bargain Car Rentals will charge you $25 per hour up to one full day’s rental until the vehicle has been returned to our location.
Customers are required to have a hard copy of their full, unrestricted licence. We cannot accept expired licences, however, we will accept interim licences.
Bargain Car Rentals does not charge any extra fee for drivers under 25.
Learners permits, provisional licence or probationary licence holders are not permitted to drive our vehicles.
The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as it was picked up with. Refuelling charges will apply if fuel is not returned empty at the correct level.
